Since July 2011 they publish a free magazine under the same name. Layout for a new magazine had to meet different requirements from the publisher. It had to accomodate different types of articles, from short news with small images to a couple spread interviews with custom made photo session. At the same time it had to look friendly and grab the attention but also looks appealing to art lovers. It had to be modern but sophisticated. Titles of main chapters are presented in big type which appears to be in the background. The transparency setting and selection of colours excludes possible interference with other texts. Article titles are presented in a firm condensed type which gives us a nice rhythmic structure. To create a contrast and add a sense of class to the layout main body text uses classic serif font. Contemporary look is achieved by what during first looks seems to be a 'frivolous' use of images, shapes and monotones. I was responsible for the first two issues of the magazine. The insitution is based on the Vistula river's bank in the central part of Warsaw. Przemiany Festiwal aims to the promote idea of change/transformation of the local landscape. During four days of the festival Centrum Nauki Kopernik gathers data about local habitants, organizes lectures and dance music concerts. Brief: New visual identification for the event had to promote the river and its surroundings but also the idea of change of the local environment. The visual identification of the festival had to look contemporary and be appealing for a young urban youth. Visual identification solution: After many attempts I finally came up with the idea of visual solution that combines both elements; A ribbon-like shape bends in a few places which is indicated by diferent shades of blue colour. The shape of the element is similar to the Vistula's riverbed. Second element of the logotype is type which had to be easy to read from a far and have a modern look. Words 'Przemiany' and 'Festiwal' are hyphened in a way which is another reference to the 'changes' promoted by the event. Date of festival became visible and integrated element of the logotype. It can be easily changed each year. Other elements: Creation of the 'graphic base' of the festival made it possible to design whole range of promotional elements such as billboards, posters, leaflets, postcards, maps, brochures, bags, stickers and a website. Some of the prints used a paint which glowed in the dark and could be recharged with any light source. Recording presents selected sonatas by Berliner composers such as Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Franrisek Benda or Friedrich der Grosse. The CD was released by Polskie Radio (Polish National Radio) which is one of the mayor radio stations in the country. Because of the character of the release ('serious' or classical music in most cases is targeted to a different age and social group than pop or dance music) I knew I had to respect some of the graphic elements to make the release look contemporary but 'classic' at the same time. I tried to achieve this by using timeless typography and centered composition and juxtaposing it with contemporary elements - use of colour, abstract shapes. <img
